Joel McHale & Kevin McHale

Glee star Kevin McHale was also feeling the McHale love. “The other McHale! I haven’t met Joel yet. He probably doesn’t know who I am, but I need to meet him. I don’t think I’ve ever met anybody else with the last name McHale!”

Then Joel told us of Kevin: “Well, I want to meet him, too, because we’re probably related and we’re from the same Irish village 400 years ago. Anybody with the last name McHale, I know who they are, intrinsically, you can sense it.”

This is good for people to know Joel and Kevin are NOT related. lol. I’ve seen that false information flying around the internet lately.

‘Glee’ Kids on Baby-Signing, Duets and the ‘Single Ladies’ Dance

Wednesday, November 11th, 2009

The cast of Glee is featured on the AOL TV website! There’s also 2 videos of them discussing the show.

You may not know all their names, but if you’ve been watching ‘Glee,’ you know who they are: The kids in the Glee Club have shot to stardom right along with their new hit show.

And it’s not because they’ve got distinctive nicknames like “Wheels,” “The Asian Girl,” “The Cute One” and “The Hot Guy With the Mohawk” … or because they’re all talented singers and dancers. The cast members of ‘Glee’ are energetic, funny and a genuine kick to be around, as we learned when they visited the AOL offices to hang out with us (jealous?) and answer fan questions.

So what did we learn about Dianna Agron, Chris Colfer, Kevin McHale, Cory Monteith, Lea Michele, Amber Riley, Mark Salling and Jenna Ushkowitz? Maybe that whenever you see Kevin frown, it’s because he’s trying not to crack up at a Sue Sylvester line … or that Amber thinks her character Mercedes beats up on her brothers … or that someone once asked the cast to autograph a baby … or that Lea has a song in mind for a potential Rachel-Puck duet … or that Cory plays drums for real on one ‘Glee’ recording.

Want to know more? Watch our exclusive video interviews below.

Amber Riley (Mercedes), Chris Colfer (Kurt), Jenna Ushkowitz (Tina) and Kevin McHale (Artie):

Kevin McHale Leaves the Wheelchair on Set, Spills Juicy ‘Glee’-tails

Tuesday, November 10th, 2009

Sorry for the lack of updates! I’m here now! lol.

Kevin is featured on the PopEater website. There’s an article, a video, and some new pictures. :)

We at PopEater love our DVRs, but FOX’s new prime-time musical ‘Glee’ is on a short list of shows we skip plans to watch at its actual broadcast time. Among the reasons for our devotion: Artie “Wheels” Abrams, with his golden throat and smooth wheelchair dance moves.

We were thrilled when the actor who portrays him, Kevin McHale, came in for a chat and photo shoot. Not only did we pick up some fun tidbits about ‘Glee,’ we learned a few interesting things about Kevin himself. Watch the video below to hear about Kevin’s boy band past, what the ‘Glee’ kids do when the cameras are off – and check out the photos to see how Kevin and Artie truly differ. (Spoiler alert: the wheelchair’s a prop!)

Check back tomorrow for Part Two of our exciting interview with Kevin McHale, when the ‘Glee’ star talks about his own high school experience, the differences between himself and his character, and being the only kid in America who appears on ‘The Office’ – without bragging.

Forget the Thanksgiving parade, ‘Glee’ cast will sing at World Series

Wednesday, October 28th, 2009

They may not be able to sing in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade on NBC, but the cast of Fox’s “Glee” will get to strut their stuff during the World Series.

Fox has confirmed that cast members from its new hit musical comedy “Glee” will sing the national anthem during Game 3 of the World Series, currently scheduled for Oct. 31. That game will be either in Los Angeles or Philadephia, depending on which team ends up in the series against either the Yankees or the Angels.

Fox had to get a green light from Major League Baseball to have the cast sing at the game. Networks often use the World Series and other big sporting events to promote their own entertainment shows, but it is unusual to actually have a cast of a show perform during the game. Of course, few probably have the chops to do it. At least we know they’ll do better than Roseanne Barr did when she butchered the anthem during a San Diego Padres ballgame.

Earlier this week, NBC pulled back an invitation that had been extended to the “Glee” cast to sing during the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, which the network has the rights to air.

The Soundtrack of ‘Glee’ Is a Hit

From ‘Cabaret’ to Kanye, Songs of ‘Glee’ Are a Hit

When Fox Broadcasting announced this spring that it was adding to its prime-time television schedule a musical comedy about a high school glee club, there was plenty of reason to doubt it would succeed. While “High School Musical” was a hit made-for-television movie, the track record for broadcast network series that weave musical song-and-dance numbers into the plot has not been good. “Viva Laughlin” and “Eli Stone” were two prominent recent failures, and one can go back to “The Monkees” and “The Partridge Family” before finding a memorable hit.

‘Fox TV’s GLEE Sees Song Hit No. 4 On Billboard Hot 100′

Wednesday, May 27th, 2009

GLEE continues this Fall on FOX!

GLEE continues this Fall on FOX!

Fox television series GLEE has broken into the Billboard Hot 100 chart with its recording of Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believin’”. The track is the chart’s Hot Shot Debut at No. 4. The feat is even more impressive as nine tracks charted from American Idol winner Kris Allen and runner-up Adam Lambert, but those were all outsold by the GLEE recording.

GLEE’S remake surpasses the original 1981 Journey recording of the song, which peaked at No. 9.

In a broadcast first, GLEE, the new one-hour musical comedy series from Ryan Murphy (“Nip/Tuck”), had a special preview following AMERICAN IDOL on Tuesday night, May 19th on FOX. The show will premiere in the fall in a regular time slot as of yet unannounced, but you can catch a sneak peek of the upcoming episodes right here on STAGE TUBE! (more…)
